As an update on  “Running a Biogas Programme”, “Small-scale, Rural Biogas Programmes” uses the resources on which the earlier book was based. David Fulford was part of a team in 1992 that made a mid-term evaluation of the UNDP funded project  run under the management of ADB/N (Agricultural Development Bank of Nepal). A report was written, but it is only in printed format. A summary draft version is available. David Fulford was also part of a team in 2012 that made an evaluation of the SNV (Netherlands Development Organisation) Asia Biogas Programme that included the Nepal work, as well as the SNV work in Vietnam, Bangladesh, Cambodia and Laos (LPDR). A report of this evaluation is available.  The evaluation work allowed access to many of SNV’s own reports. More recent reports on SNV’s work can be found on their web site. Much of this work has been taken over by HIVOS. Further information was found from SANDEC (Department of Water and Sanitation in Developing Countries) part of EAWAG (Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology)They have several reports on food waste systems. These include one on a system built by Biotech Ltd in India and also smaller-scale systems build by ARTI in Africa. David Fulford was also a sub-contracted international assessor for Ashden which is part of the Sainsbury Foundation and gives awards for the best renewable energy projects in the world. This allowed him to visit projects in many parts of the world. Awards have been made to several projects doing biogas extension in several countries and videos have been made about them. One of these visits  was to an NGO (non-governmental organisation) in India called SKG Sangha. A UK based charitable company was set up in collaboration, called Foundation SKG Sangha. The International Energy Authority (IEA) has a range of Tasks related to various subject areas. IEA Task  37 relates to Biogas and offers a wide range of reports and presentations from the group as a whole, as well as publications and workshop reports from groups in the member countries. Another source of information was preparation for teaching the MSc course on Renewable Energy at Reading University. This includes the first order rate theory which can be used to predict the amount of biogas from a plant. Some of the resources on which the books are based are available as PDF files: 1. The original report on the DCS biogas programme in Nepal for USAID in two volumes (1985): a. Biogas in Nepal Vol I and  b. Biogas in Nepal Vol II  2. The evaluation report for the ADB/N biogas programme in Nepal for UNCDF/UNDP (1986): a. Summary report b. Full report, including summery 3. A short course on the design of biogas burners (1999) 4. Reports on AD systems for processing food wastes in India by Om Shah: a. Visit report to the Mailhem process in Pune (2005) b. European MSc thesis on the Nisargruna process at BARC Mumbai (2006) 5. The evaluation report for the SNV biogas Asia programme for SNV (2012) 6. A presentation of the benefits of domestic biogas technology (2014) 7. A presentation: Developing Indigenous Capabilities for Processing Organic Wastes in Nepal (2015)
